Polishing wheel is used for polishing the surface of workpiece and plating. Polishing wheel is divided into: polishing cloth wheel, hemp wheel, nylon wheel, wiring wheel, wind wheel, wool wheel, etc., more types.
There are several types of polishing wheels according to the production method as follows.
(1) non-stitching type whole cloth wheel. Mostly made of fine soft cotton cloth, suitable for polishing complex shape workpiece, or for small workpiece fine polishing.
(2) stitching type. Mostly made of coarse cloth, non-woven fabric and fine flat cloth, etc., stitching can be used in concentric circles spiral and straight radiation form, suitable for polishing a variety of plating and the shape of the simpler work.
(3) Air-cooled cloth wheel. The use of 45 degrees angle line cutting method, is a ring-shaped fold, the middle is equipped with a metal disc, with the characteristics of ventilation and heat dissipation, suitable for polishing large workpiece.
(4) felt wheel. Made of pure wool, long shrinkage time, tight organization, small pores, unlike the fabric as restricted by the warp and weft, good wear resistance.
According to the main material classification are as follows.
(1) sand cloth page wheel. Made of a variety of different particle sizes, different abrasives (such as corundum, silicon carbide) of the sand cloth. Its cutting rate is high, suitable for various types of materials grinding, polishing, burring and finishing.
(2) cotton polishing wheel. Made of different kinds of cotton cloth. Use different impregnation methods and different abrasives, can be used for semi-polishing, polishing and mirror polishing.
